Stephen Don Sarkar

Graduate Student

Stephen is from Bangladesh and graduated with an M.Phil. from BUET, Bangladesh, in 2018. Stephen completed his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, in 2010 and 2011, respectively. His previous research projects have focused on the synthesis of composite materials and studying their mechanical properties. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. at UH and has joined the Harth group in October 2021 and graduated in May 2026. During his tenure as graduate student he received the Jay Kochi Award and the Bushman Award. Both awards are given to students who show a high productivity and creativity. He is now pursuing a postdoctoral position at Rice University in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department, in the group of Everett Zofchak.
