Md Shaikat Hasan

Graduate Student
Md Shaikat Hasan is from Bangladesh and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry at the University of Dhaka. His master’s research focused on plasma-treated jute cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose, emphasizing surface modification, enhanced carboxymethylation, and functional cellulose-based materials. He previously worked as a research assistant at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, where he conducted research on the green synthesis of cellulose nanocrystals, polyaniline-based hybrid nanocomposites, and renewable polymer-based electrode materials for high-energy supercapacitor applications. Shaikat is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Houston and a member of Dr. Harth’s Laboratory. His research interests include polymer chemistry, renewable biopolymer nanomaterials, and the development of sustainable functional materials for energy, environmental, and biomedical applications.
